Now, we sincerely ask for help. While I could sit here and criticize the doctors and manufacturers endlessly, I honestly don’t have the strength anymore.
As much as I didn’t want to believe that my surgeon was a terrible person, what if she wasn’t? What if she genuinely believes that breast implants are safe, and what if she thinks sending my implants off for pathology is a waste of money? I can accept that. Despite the discomfort of hearing such things and feeling disregarded when seeking help from these physicians, I am urging all of us to take a quick moment to be completely honest with each other. Let’s remember that we are all human and prone to making mistakes. I can only speak for myself, but one thing I know for sure is that I didn’t hesitate to discuss this with the only actual physician.
Now, can you do the same? We acknowledge our mistake, and as much as I didn’t want to believe, we need help.”
